Nxai Pan National Park is a situated in north-eastern Botswana, consisting of Nxai Pan, which is one of the Makgadikgadi Pan salt flats. Nxai PanNational Park lies just north of the Maun-Nata main road and adjoins Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on its northern border. The pan itself is a fossil lake-bed about 40 square km in size.
Nxai Pan National Park is renound for the famous "Baines' Baobabs" and the zebras that migrate by the thousands to the area - the second largest land animal migration in Southern Africa. This unique desert location makes a perfect contrast to the Okavango Delta and Northern Botswana regions, a great way to start, or round-off, any trip.
