We are from Africa and Africa is our passion. We only work with the most reputable travel partners in Africa, those who make a positive difference in the local communities, nature and wildlife. We choose travel partners that invest in conservation, in their staff and create home away from home experiences in some of the wildest places in Africa.
Every itinerary we create is tailor-made around you, your interests, budget and time constraints. We love what we do and love to work with people wanting to explore magical Africa, be it a private wildlife photographic safari, family safari, luxury safari, horseback safari, overland safari or your honeymoon.
In short, allow us to show you the Africa we love.
This is the easy part. Contact Riaan & Caroline here at Dusty Boots Travel. We listen to and understand your wishes and match your inrerests and time constraints to the best-fit safari experiences in Africa.
We take the time to work on your custom itinerary until you (and us) are confident that you will enjoy a life-changing safari experience.
This very much depends on what animals you would like to see or which safari experience is on your bucket-list. This can be very overwhelming as each country has something special to offer.
We create tailor-made luxury, family and photographic safaris to the Indian Ocean Islands, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.

The high or peak safari season in Africa is between June and October. Some of the best wildlife sightings are recorded during these months. This is also when the national parks are most busy and rates are at their highest.
The low season, between December and March, sometimes referred to as the green season, is a must for birders and those interested in all the baby animals being born during this time. Rates are also at their lowest and the camps are not as busy.
The shoulder season is the period between high/peak and low season. This is also a perfect time to consider going on safari, to keep expenses down.
Consider the exclusivity and remoteness of an area and know the size of the property you will be staying in. The private reserves and concessions may be more expensive, but they really do offer exclusive safari experiences away from the busy tourist areas. The same goes for lesser known, but exciting safari destinations and countries, for example Zambia.
Consider the safari activities on offer too. For example, if you would like to do a walking safari, make sure this is an activity on offer at the camps or lodges you choose.
This will depend on your time constraints, but we would suggest at least 10 nights on the ground in Africa. This will allow for enough time to unwind and really take in the beauty of Africa and the excitment of a well- planned safari.
We also suggest at least 3 to 4 nights per camp. Again, this will allow you to enjoy the camp, safari activities, save costs and have a relaxing time on safari.
We encourage you to bring your children on safari to Africa. They are the future generations and key to help conserve mother nature.
There are amazing child-friendly safari camps in Africa. We will be happy to create a wonderful safari for you and your family.
Well planned African safaris are not inexpensive. It is very helpful if you have an idea of how much you would like to spend on your journey in Africa. This will enable us to make the most suitable suggestions for your budget.
The more private and exclusive the safari is, the higher the cost. For example, Botswana offers some of the most exclusive safaris in Africa, but expect to pay more for this exclusivity. Countries like Zambia offer similar exciting and private safari experiences, but at a much lower cost.
