DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion,’ is a luxury tented camp located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The area is famed for large herds of elephants and exceptional game viewing along the Savute Channel .
DumaTau consists of ten-roomed (eight twin and two family) tents raised off the ground to take advantage of the dramatic views of the Osprey Lagoon. In 2012, DumaTau was rebuilt on a new site and the opportunity was seized to enhance the camp’s Environmental Management System standards. The camp was built using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved wood and positioned off the ground to minimise direct impact. DumaTau Camp now has a very light carbon footprint and runs on a 100% solar energy.
