Elevated walkways link the bedroom accommodation to the main dining, bar and pool areas that are designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment and maximise the Okavango views. • Game drives are carried out in a 10-seater open, 4x4 Land Rovers, each accommodating a maximum of 7 guests, allowing each guest an outside seat
• Water-based activities in 8 and 12-seater boats (water levels permitting) and in 2-seater mokoros
• Guided nature walks on request and seasonal therefore pre-booking is essential
• Fishing on a catch-and-release basis (fishing is prohibited in Botswana in January and February for fish breeding purposes). The camp has a small stock of basic rods and reels but fly fishing equipment is to be supplied by guest if required
• Little Tubu Camp is an internationally recognised Important Bird Area (IBA). Birding in the Jao Concession is exceptional, with the western drier areas hosting crimson-breasted shrike, Dickinson’s kestrel and Meyer’s parrot. Other exciting species in Jao include swamp nightjar and brown fire finch
• The Tubu Tree Star-Bed is about a 20 minutes drive from camp (it is not the same platform used by Jao Camp) and it can take a maximum of four guests, with the guide sleeping in a nearby tent. The platform is accessible throughout the year (weather permitting) and is equipped with a long drop toilet, radio, torch, bedrolls, mosquito nets and flasks of tea/coffee. It is also possible to do a sala sleep-out in the Honeymoon room at Little Tubu
• Scenic helicopter flights, offering a birds-eye view of the ecosystem and an insight into its formation, are also available and range from 30 to 60 minutes. This is an optional activity at additional costs which can be settled directly in camp
The camp also offers their guests bean bags to steady their camera while on a game activity. Hot water bottles (during winter months and on early morning game drives only) and blankets are also provided on game drives.
Wildlife seen around Little Tubu includes elephant, lion, Burchell's zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains. Kudu, impala, bushbuck and leopard are also seen in the forested areas.
The variety of birdlife is impressive, with dry-land species seen on the larger islands and a multitude of wetland birds seen on the floodplains and waterways. Vulnerable wattled crane, slaty egret, rosy-throated longclaw, Pel’s fishing-owl, and lesser jacana are found on the eastern side, with the western drier areas hosting crimson-breasted shrike, Dickinson’s kestrel and Meyer’s parrot. Other exceptional species often recorded at Little Tubu include swamp nightjar and brown firefinch.
• Situated in the very heart of the wetlands of the Okavango Delta, the 60,000 hectare (150,000 acre) Jao Concession embodies all the magic and mystique of Botswana with vegetation that varies from permanent swamps to dry land. Little Tubu’s extremely remote location gives access to both water and dry land areas, allowing guests to see all aspects of the Delta’s makeup

• Children 6 years and older are welcome at Little Tubu Camp. For families travelling with children between 6 and 12 years, private activities need to be booked and paid for additionally. Children between 6 and 16 years must share with an adult/s in the same room. The minimum age for walking and mokoro activities is 13 years while the minimum age for boating activities is 6 years (water levels permitting)
